The other day I had a new patient who is a few months post-partum. She came to see me because she started having symptoms of feeling light-headed along with some vision changes. Understandably this led to her feeling quite anxious.
Prior to finding me, she decided to make an appointment with her Obstetrician since she gave birth only a few months ago and she thought that her symptoms may be related to hormone imbalances.
Sadly, the OB told her that she was unable to help her. That her symptoms were not related to her giving birth, because this was a few months after the fact. So the OB referred her back to her primary care physician. But, her Obstetrician could offer her a prescription of Xanax to help with her symptoms of anxiety…even though she was still breastfeeding!
I hear this often from my patients, that their doctors aren’t listening to them.
Instead of taking the time to uncover what could potentially be causing their symptoms, people are being written off by their doctors. My patient’s come to me feeling discarded and hopeless. Unfortunately by the time they find me, they are in a state of desperation.
What I can tell you is, after having spent some time listening to this particular patient, I came to uncover that her adrenals were fatigued and her cells were simply dehydrated. It took less than an hour for me to listen to my patient’s concerns and determine how I could help her.
If this sounds like something you’ve been through, know that you deserve to be heard. I’m here to listen and to help you.
If you’re interested in scheduling an appointment with me, please know that you will be treated with kindness, respect and love. While my schedule is currently full, know that your time with me is of the utmost importance.
You’re worth it to me and I look forward to helping you very soon!
