Today I wanted to discuss a health topic that doesn’t get the attention it deserves and that’s PMDD.
PMDD, or premenstrual dysphoric disorder, is more than just PMS. Moodiness, anxiety, bloating, crying for no reason, devouring a box of cookies before you even realize it, can be considered somewhat normal symptoms of PMS.
But with PMDD, symptoms can cause significant physical and emotional stressors that are debilitating.
The symptoms generally appear during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle and last until the menstrual flow begins which is a long time to be struggling with such intense symptoms which can include: rage, extreme fatigue, brain fog, depression, suicidal thoughts, bouts of extreme sadness and joint or muscle pain to name a few.
The conventional PMDD treatment is often a combination of prescription anti-anxiety and depression medications, and, sometimes, birth control pills. But today I wanted to talk about some natural treatments which are very effective at relieving PMDD.
