Elevate Your Snacking with this Lectin-Free, Liver-Loving Hummus Recipe

I absolutely love the intense color of my hummus recipe. It’s also a great addition for a healthy Halloween snack.

The pigments that give red beets their color are called betalains. They’re made using an amino acid called tyrosine, making it good for your thyroid. Tyrosine is the basic building block to making thyroid hormones, while beets and turnips contain nutrients that aid your liver in removing toxins.

This hummus is not just lectin-free, but it’s also super beneficial for two important organs in your body. It’s a fantastic choice for those with dietary restrictions or anyone who wants to give their detox pathways and thyroid health a little boost!

Recipe:

2 small beets
1 small watermelon radish (don’t worry you can’t even taste it), but your liver will love it!
4 artichoke hearts
3 T tahini
1-2 T EVOO
Juice of a lemon
Salt to taste

Instructions:

1. Cut the beats and turnips into small pieces.
2. Steam them for a couple of minutes so they’re soft enough to purée.
3. Add the rest of the ingredients into a blender. Make sure the artichokes are cut into smaller pieces first.
4. Mix into a smoothe consisting and enjoy. Your liver and taste buds will thank you for it!
