As we all know, the brain is responsible for directing the operations of the entire human body. Every blink of your eye, every twitch of your muscle, and every thought that runs through your mind originate from the brain. Which means the brain is the ultimate ruler of your body.

As you age, your brain is exposed to more and more toxins which results in losing some of it’s vital functions. That is, it’s harder for your brain to make the connections it needs. This can mean you have a hard time focusing, you have a hard time remembering things, or you just simply begin to run out of energy. By ensuring your brain is healthy, you can help prevent these things from happening.

On this episode I discuss some simple tips to preventing your brain from aging so that it can avoid deteriorating sooner than necessary. I’ll also discuss how your gut is involved in this process and what you can do to keep not only your brain health in check, but also your gut health as strong as possible.

Mold and Your Health

Welcome to Regenerate You™, I’m Dr. Nirvana!

On this episode, I wanted to discuss the detrimental effects of mold to your health.

Mold toxicity occurs when mycotoxins are produced by micro-fungi, that can affect your body including your hormones, thyroid, adrenals and gut. This is because mycotoxins are nearly all cytotoxic, disrupting various cellular structures , and interfere with vital cellular processes such as protein, RNA and DNA synthesis.  What this means is that they’re damaging to the basic building blocks of your cells which translates to cellular dysfunction or cellular death.

How does the mold get into your body? Well, during the reproduction process of mold, mold spores are released into the air and can become inhaled through the nose and mouth and they don’t always have a “musty smell” or any odor at all. Once mold spores enter into your body, it can trigger a plethora of symptoms including:

Chronic or Adrenal fatigue

Infection sensitivity

  Respiratory infections

Immune dysfunction

 Brain fog

Fungal sinusitis

Asthma

Neuropathy

Thyroid dysfunction

Hello Everyone, welcome to Regenerate You™!

On today’s episode I had the pleasure of interviewing my Acuptuncturist, Satch Purcell.  He is also an Herbalist, Occupational Therapist, and co-host of the Authenticity Show, a podcast about health, creativity and the quest for excellence. He earned his master’s in acupuncture and oriental medicine from South Baylo University in 1997, and a master’s in occupational therapy from Loma Linda University in 2004. He is certified in acupuncture orthopedics and completed advanced training at the Dong Zhi Men Hospital of Orthopedics and Traumatology in Beijing. Satch has worked in private practice as an acupuncturist & herbalist for over 20 years, including 11-years in an opiate recovery center.  He is currently the program director for the occupational therapy assistant program at Stanbridge University in Irvine, California.

The reason I asked Satch to be on my Podcast,  was because his applications in Traditional Chinese Medicine are not like most profressionals in his field. His  techniques are not only gentle but come with a unique approach from the wisdom that he has aquired from skilled Masters TCM. Welcome to Regenerate You™, I’m Dr. Nirvana!

On today’s episode of Regenerate You™, I discuss some of the worst fats that are hidden in every day foods and how you can avoid them. These fats contain another kind of fat that falls outside of the saturated and unsaturated categories which wreak havoc on your cells transforming your DNA! As of 1999, label laws in the United States don’t require food manufacturers to include detailed information about these fats in nutrition labeling. So, a product whose label says it’s low in fat (in general) necessarily won’t tell you the amount of the toxic damaging fats it does contain! Curious to know which fats I’m referring?
